Music
We have a dedicated musical culture at Cranleigh C of E Primary. This has been created through our commitment to offer specialist instrumental lessons, experiential learning opportunities, participation in community events and ensuring our non-specialist teaching staff have a secure understanding of the curriculum they teach.
We use Charanga, a multi-award-winning music programme, to teach our Music lessons.
All curriculum documents can be found below.
We also offer weekly lessons to all Key Stage 2 children in drums, guitar and keyboard delivered by specialists from The Music Works; weekly instrumental lessons to all of Year 4 delivered by a specialist music teacher; the opportunity to join our school choir which practices each week and regularly performs at local community events and establishments; and visits to watch and listen to many different types of music at Cranleigh Arts Centre (recently, this has included a flute and harp performance, and jazz guitar).
